This week in science we took our Math MAP tests on Tuesday and Wednesday and started AND finished our lab safety unit.  As a class we focused on safe lab practices as well as how to use heat properly and chemicals which is different than previous years.  Students will be taking a lab safety quiz this weekend for homework online (in google drive) to make sure they have learned proper lab procedures.

Next week we will be focusing on the scientific method, specifically VARIABLES.  Students will be looking at pictures to make observations, predictions and inferences.  We will do a short lab to review the steps of the scientific method.

We will have our first field trip of the year on Friday, September 13th to Irons Oaks Adventure Center.  Students will be working in groups to complete specific tasks.  This trip focuses on cooperative learning, teamwork, and communication.
