2015 Boys Soccer Team

Once again thanks to all the boys that tried out for the 2015 soccer team! Conditions were not great and forced us to host tryouts inside and this is obviously not ideal for soccer.  This was an extremely tough decision and for all the 6th/7th graders that did not make the team please try out again next year! You all did great!

2014 Boys Soccer Team

Thanks to all the boys that tried out this year!  Between the weather and having to use the gym, these conditions were not ideal.  This decision is always difficult because there is only one team and SO much talent out there! I encourage the 6th and 7th graders that did not make the team this year to keep playing soccer and definitely come and try out again next year! Also, boys that did not make the team, but would still like to be part of the team and practice with us are encouraged to come talk to me about being managers!

Congratulations to the 2014 Lakeview Boys Soccer Team
Boys that made the team please stop by my room tomorrow and grab a schedule from me.  If you are absent or on vacation, see me Monday after break.  First practice will be Tuesday April, 8 from 3-5.

12/2-12/6

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We flew quickly through unit 3 and our ready to begin Chemistry! In Unit 4 the students will be learning about the different parts of the atom as well as how the ideas and theories about the parts of the atom have changed over time.  We will be looking at the periodic table and understanding how to use it.  It is very important that students are keeping up with homework and assignments in this unit because the next few units build on these basic concepts.

11/11-11/15

Second Quarter has started!!....so has Unit 3.  This unit is a shorter unit which gives a brief overview of what we are going to be getting into when we get in to chemistry! In this unit we talk about elements, compounds and mixtures.  We spend a lot of time on mixtures because elements and compounds we will cover more in the next few units! Students will be practicing reading solubility graphs as well as looking at how to find the concentration of a solution.  We will have a test on this unit before Thanksgiving!

On another note....I am so excited for D.C. this weekend! I have been waiting to be asked to go on this trip and this year I get to be one of the chaperons! I have never been to D.C. so I am really looking forward to all I am going to experience on the trip as well!

11/4-11/8

We have finally hit the end of the 1st Quarter! Time is really flying by this year.  We are beginning our 3rd unit on elements, compounds and mixtures. This week students will be learning the new vocabulary as well as reading about these topics.  We will then perform the "Kool-aid Lab" where students can use their knowledge of solutions to try and make a perfect solution (saturated) of kool-aid without package directions.  Unit 3 tends to be a shorter unit so we will be testing in the next few weeks and then on to the periodic table!
